Week 4 girls soccer rankings

Lambert is flawless on the year and is leading the AAAAAAA polls again this week after a 6-1 victory over Milton on March 27. The Longhorns have allowed just three goals this year and put together a string of nine shutouts from Feb. 22 to March 22. Parkview is No. 2 again this week and, since losing to J.L. Mann on March 23 (2-0), it defeated Meadowcreek and Central Gwinnett, both 10-0. Lassiter has won 12-straight matches since losing to Harrison 2-1 on Feb. 5. It’s riding a string of three shutouts over Kell, Wheeler and Kennesaw Mountain since March 22. Peachtree Ridge is No. 4 after falling from No. 3. North Gwinnett is No. 5 this week after its climb from No. 7.

Johns Creek leads Class AAAAAA again this week and has not allowed a goal since a 1-0 loss to Hillgrove on March 7. Since then its won seven matches including a 3-0 victory at Cambridge on March 26. Harrison is No. 2 again this week with Dacula and Heritage-Conyers at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Dunwoody, a new No. 5, moved up from No. 7 as Glynn Academy fell to No. 6 from No. 5.

McIntosh lost on the road to St. Pius 4-0 on March 22 but since, it has proved its worth with a 12-0 victory on the road at Riverdale and a 6-1 victory over No. 3 Starr’s Mill at home. No. 2 Decatur is in the same spot as last week with Starr’s Mill at No. 3. Buford moved up to No. 4 this week as previous No. 4 Veterans fell to No. 5.

St. Pius X is the team to beat in Class AAAA again this week and since losing at Brookwood 1-0 on March 20, the Golden Lions beat Class AAAAA No. 1 McIntosh 4-0, Oconee County 7-0 and No. 4 Marist 2-0. A new No. 2 debuts this week with Flowery Branch moving up from No. 5. Columbus is No. 3 this week after its climb from No. 4. Marist, previously No. 2, is No. 4 this week ahead of North Oconee at No. 5.

Top-ranked Westminster responded to a 2-2 tie with Norman on March 28 with a 7-0 victory over Huntsville on March 30. Dawson County is No. 2 this week after its climb from No. 5. Greater Atlanta Christian, previously No. 2, is No. 3 this week. Pike County fell from No. 3 to No. 4 this week and Jackson County moved from No. 6 to No. 5.

Class AA remained the same this week with Vidalia leading the way. St. Vincent’s is No. 2 and Bremen is No. 3. Lamar County and Screven County round out the top-5. The same in Class A with First Presbyterian leading No. 2 Wesleyan, No. 3 Pinecrest Academy, No. 4 Brookstone and No. 5 Athens Academy again this week.
