This afternoon some of the nation’s top quarterbacks will be rotating through drills and throwing routes to wide receivers at Buford High School. The Elite 11 Regionals will feature many top-level rising senior quarterbacks and select elite underclassman competing for a shot at the Elite 11 Camp in Southern California this July.
One quarterback that will take part is Lassiter’s Eddie Printz. ESPN’s No. 19 QB-pocket passer prospect attended last year’s Elite 11 regional in Athens, and Lassiter head coach Jep Irwin says that this will be the fourth year in a row for Printz at the Elite 11 camps. “It is a really unique experience for him.”
Irwin also noted that Printz, who threw for 3350 yards and 28 touchdowns one year ago as the Trojans advanced to the Class AAAAA semifinals, has been working hard throughout the winter to improve. Read more >

The Brookwood Broncos boys swimming team is used to winning state championships. From 2008 through 2010, the Broncos swam away from the competition for three straight Class AAAAA titles, a run that was ended by fellow Gwinnett County powerhouse Peachtree Ridge. Last year’s miss has fueled the 2011-12 team and a pair of individuals in particular. Michael Trice and Aidan Sweeney will be competing at the GHSA swimming championships this weekend, seeking to return Brookwood to the top of the podium. Brookwood’s outstanding coach Greg Puckett is hopeful, especially with outstanding swimmers such as Trice and Sweeney.
“Michael Trice is definitely a sprint freestyle specialist,” said Puckett. ”He also does well in other events, but he thrives on the challenge of the sprint free events.” Trice recently blazed a 50 meter free time of 20.74 to smoke some tough competition at the Gwinnett County Championships.
