A loaded Carver-Columbus team prepares for another title run

Carver-Columbus dominated its way to its first championship in over a decade last season. The Tigers went 14-1, scoring 39.4 points per game while only giving up 7.5 PPG. The team is returning the majority of the roster from last season, including the top two uncommitted 2A players, according to On3.

The Tigers’ star edge rusher, Tristen Givens, is the top uncommitted player in the class. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound, 4-star is a top-100 player in the country and a top-10 edge rusher nationally. Givens is a long athlete with the bend and motor to be an elite player at the next level. He regularly shows high-end athleticism shown best by also playing tight end for the Tigers. He has shown enough promise there that, until recently, it was unknown whether he would play defense or offense at the next level.

The other top uncommitted player on the team is 2026 running back Kelston Tarver. As a running back, he has the prototypical size for an all-purpose back. Standing at 5-10, 180 pounds, he has more than enough size to be a successful running back at the collegiate level. He is currently a 3-star prospect with six FBS offers, most notably an offer from Minnesota.

In addition to the two uncommitted standouts, the Tigers have two more high-end committed seniors. The top committed player on the team is Parker Pritchett. He is a skilled offensive lineman who projects as an interior lineman at the next level. Standing at 6-4, 310 pounds, he anchors the Tigers’ offensive line. He is currently committed to play for Auburn but has offers from teams like Georgia and Alabama.

Kei’Maurii Miles is the other elite committed recruit. Miles is the team’s top receiver and one of the better receivers in the state. He is currently committed to UNC, choosing them over an offer from Georgia. He gives quarterback Matthew Mungin a reliable pass catcher who can help lead the team in chasing another championship.
