Alabama tight end, former Buford star busted with cash, drugs

More than $4,600 in cash and 112 grams of marijuana were found in the dorm room of Alabama sophomore tight end Kurt Freitag. Freitag spent his varsity career at Buford where he won three state titles and was selected to the Gwinnett Daily Post Super Six his senior season.

AL.com obtained the police report, which says the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force was tipped off on Freitag’s involvment with drug dealing. While keeping track of the 6-foot-4 tight end, the task force witnessed a drug deal go down. They went to his dorm room and confiscated the drugs and cash. According to the report, “On October 7th, 2014, agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force observed and recorded a drug transaction outside Bryant Hall, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, involving Kurt Freitag. Agents were able to identify Mr. Freitag through a confidential informant.

The report is yet to have any charges filed against Freitag.
