Basketball scores from Friday

Basketball action took place on Friday and in a Class AAA girls game, No. 2-ranked Beach moved to 5-3 on the season after a 71-37 victory over Windsor Forest. The Bulldogs opened the game with a 20-0 run to take control and from there, Beach was not challenged. The Bulldogs led 20-2 after the first quarter and extended the lead to 45-14 at the break. Beach extended the lead through a 20-8 run in the third quarter before holding on through a 15-6 Windsor Forest run in the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Madison Evans scored her 1,000th point early in the game and finished with 13 points for Beach. Kaila Rougier, a junior guard, also finished with 13 points. Sophomore forward Ameyah Dantzler led the Bulldogs with 20 points.

The Commerce girls moved to 3-1 on the season with a 54-27 victory over Oglethorpe. Junior Bryanna Sanders led with 14 points. Junior guard Maggie Mullis scored 10 points. Ragan Allen and Lauren Massey each scored nine points and Carson Hobbs finished with seven points.
