Prince Ave’s Ben Musser turning into a highly-touted quarterback

Prince Avenue Christian has produced several top-tier quarterbacks in recent history with former Wolverines players like Aaron Philo and Brock Vandagriff touted as highly-ranked recruits when they entered he college ranks.

Vandagriff passed for 10,097 yards in high school — 13th all-time in on the state’s passing record list — and led the team, coached by his father Greg, to a state championship in 2020. He was on the 2021 and 2022 National Championship teams at the University of Georgia before transferring to Kentucky in 2023.

Philo set the state passing record in 2024 with 13,922 yards, beating out Cartersville’s Trevor Lawrence by 20 yards while leading the program to back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. He was a star for Georgia Tech as a true-freshman last season and, while only playing in four games, he helped lead the Jackets to a 28-23 upset victory against Miami and made the game-winning, 18-yard touchdown run to beat North Carolina State 30-29.

Ben Musser — Prince Ave’s Class of 2027 quarterback — could be next on that list. And he has experience to draw upon in his next two seasons.

He watched Philo’s record-breaking senior season as a freshman two years ago. And last season, at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Musser played in a two quarterback system with senior Jake Bobo where he threw for 1,472 yards and 15 touchdowns while helping lead the Wolverines to a state championship appearance. Musser also ran for nearly 800 yards and eight scores on the ground.

His recruitment has blown up over the offseason and he now holds double-digit offers before becoming an upperclassman.

Musser cites Clemson, UGA, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, and Indiana as some of the leaders in his recruitment.

Vanderbilt was one of the early schools on Musser. He has already visited Vanderbilt and loved what he saw from the Commodores.

“The coaching staff, facilities, and community are great. I’m blessed to be offered by them,” Musser told Score Atlanta’s Wesley Powell.

Musser also mentioned Cincinnati among his top schools. Cincinnati recently got a commitment from fellow Georgia-native and quarterback Brooks Goodman (Blessed Trinity) for its 2026 class.

“Brooks Goodman is a good friend of mine and it would be a pleasure to play with him,” Musser said.

The University of Georgia and Clemson have not offered Musser yet, but he said the two are staying in the mix. Musser stated that UGA has invited him to a private workout.

Musser’s desire is to go to a school that can help develop him on and off the field.

As for his high school career, Musser still has two years left in Bogart. Coming off a region championship and state runner up finish, PAC will look to go for state this coming year.

“I am looking to continue the winning tradition that the two great quarterbacks have done before me.” Musser continued, “and to be the best teammate and leader, while winning two state championships.”

Musser recently competed in the Elite 11 regional and performed well. He is primed and ready to lead Prince Avenue to more state championships over the next two years before he heads off to college.
