Carrollton running back Kimauri Farmer announces his top-10

Carrollton starting running back, rising senior Kimauri Farmer has narrowed his decision down to 10 schools on Tuesday afternoon as he enters the summer before his final season of high school football.

Farmer’s decision has been cut to: Indiana, SMU, Kansas State, UCONN, East Carolina, Liberty, James Madison, Kansas, Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina.

“I plan on committing this summer and as for what I am looking for in my new home, mostly relationships and development,” said Farmer. “It’s always bigger than football and I am mostly excited about the relationships I am going to make while causing havoc on the field!”

The 5-foot-8, 175-pound running back has held offers from more than 20 schools before cutting his list of interested schools in half on Tuesday afternoon.

Farmer has been an instrumental part of the Trojans offense as he enters his fourth season in the Carrollton backfield.

Last year, Farmer led the Trojans in rushing for the second season in a row as he rushed for 1,376 yards on 224 carries and scored 20 touchdowns on the ground during his junior season. Farmer averaged 91 yards per game as he rushed for over 100 yards in six games last season for Carrollton. Farmer was also effective in the passing game, recording 401 yards through the air as well as four receiving touchdowns on 38 receptions.

Farmer has continued to make an impact since being on the varsity roster as a freshman. In his sophomore season, Farmer burst onto the scene accumulating 1,433 yards, averaging 110 yards per game and scoring 22 touchdowns while scoring three touchdowns through the air on 28 receptions, showcasing his versatility.

The running back played a huge part in the Trojans success from a year ago, helping them make it all the way to the Class 6A state championship before losing to Grayson.

Farmer will look to help bring Carrollton back to the state championship as he has done twice in his high school career. Farmer and the Trojans are seeking the schools first state championship since 1998.
