The Class 3A championships across the 2024-25 season were won by talented state title holders, who know what it means to win.
But with the removal of the private school to 1A-3A Private, the classification produced several first-time champions across the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons.
Jefferson led with four championships while Oconee County won three titles. Cherokee Bluff, North Hall and Calhoun each won two titles
In the fall, Calhoun dropped down to Class 3A from Class 5A this season and won the program’s fifth football title after winning in 1952, 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2024. North Hall secured the one-act play title, its first since 2014. Rounding out the fall season, Heritage-Catoosa secured the team’s fifth title and second-straight. Cherokee Bluff won the program’s first-ever cheerleading title. The Oconee County boys won the team’s fifth cross country state title while the North Hall girls secured their first title.
In winter sports, dynasties emerged. Sandy Creek’s boys won the team’s fourth overall and third-straight basketball title and Jefferson dominated the traditional and team-duals titles. In the girls basketball, Cherokee Bluff lifted the team’s first-ever championship trophy. In the 2A-3A Dance competition, Heritage-Catoosa secured the title. In the literary championship, Calhoun placed first. Greater Atlanta Christian, a 3A program that competes in Class 1A-3A Private for the state championships, won the boys swimming and diving title.
In the spring, West Lauren’s boys and the Jefferson girls won the state golf championships. Johnson-Gainesville won the boys soccer title for the program’s fourth while the Oconee County girls won their third-straight championship. On the tennis court, LaGrange secured the boys title and Oconee County won on the girls side.
