The Creekside girls basketball team is right where it wants to be heading into the region tournament time of the season. the Seminoles stand at 17-0 and atop their region standings with an 8-0 record.
Last season, the Creekside girls team was eliminated from the Class 5A playoffs in the second round after a 70-60 loss to Dalton, leaving the program wanting more.
Now, with eight games left in the regular season, Creekside’s eyeing a deep postseason run. Creekside averages close to 73 points per game, compared to the 31 points per game they allow to their opponents.
Creekside has beaten six different teams by over 60 points including an 86-point victory over Forest Park at the start of the season, followed by a 98-point victory against M.L. King in the very next game. In those five of the six games, the Seminoles have held their opponents to less than 20 points including four games where the Creekside defense held its opponents to single-digits.
The Seminoles are led by sophomore C’india Dennis who leads the team in multiple categories such as points per game, rebounds, assists and steals as she is putting together a tremendous sophomore season. Dennis is averaging just over 19 points per game to go along with close to six rebounds, six assists, and close to four steals a game, all team-highs leading the Seminoles so far on their magnificent season. Along with Dennis, senior Skye Cleveland has been a major contributor to the Seminoles success, averaging just about 14 points to go along with around five rebounds and two steals per game. Dennis and Cleveland have been leading a high-powered Creekside team that has scored over 1,100 points while shooting a staggering 44% from the field.
