Baconton Charter will face Region 5 No. 4 seed Glascock County in the opening round. Miller County got the No. 2 seed ahead of No. 3 seed Seminole County and No. 4 seed Pelham. In Region 2, Clinch County has wrapped up the No. 4 seed, but the top 3 seeds are still in the air with the final matchups of the season happening Friday. Lanier County has a double-header against Brooks County and can secure the top seed with a sweep. Meanwhile, Charlton County and Irwin County have a double-header and Charlton County has a one-game lead over Irwin County after taking Game 1 of the series 11-4 on Tuesday.
In Region 3, ECI earned the top seed ahead of No. 2 Metter, No. 3 Screven County and No. 4 Bryan County. Region 4 is set with Wilcox County at No. 1 and Hawkinsville at No. 2. The No. 3 seed and No. 4 seed will depend on the result of tonight’s matchup between Treutlen and host Wheeler County. Wheeler County has a one-game lead over Treutlen and previously defeated the Vikings 2-1 in eight innings on March 3, but a loss would potential force a tie. Region 5-8 are already set heading into the weekend with Johnson County (Region 5), Crawford County (Region 6), Bowdon (Region 7) and Lake Oconee Academy (Region 8) each earning the top seeds in their respective regions.
