ELITE JUNIOR: Keyston Fuller

Griffin High School

Keyston Fuller is excelling at wide receiver for Griffin and has helped his team reach the second round of the playoffs this year. In a game against Woodland on Nov. 8, he had 219 all-purpose yards including a kickoff he returned 95 yards for a touchdown. Colleges are beginning to take notice of his speed and quickness, and he should fit nicely into passing offense at the next level.

North Carolina and Georgia Tech have been actively recruiting Fuller, sending mail and calling him frequently. He is rather reserved for a wide receiver with his talent, but he lets his play do his talking for him. He’s also an impressive baseball player, playing on Griffin’s team as well as a high school travel team during the summer. In between all the baseball he managed to go to a few football camps.

“I went to an Alabama camp this past summer and that was a really good experience. I learned a lot from their staff and also had a lot of fun,” Fuller explained.

In addition to the amount of time he’s put on the football field and the baseball diamond, he’s managed to keep an impressive 3.8 GPA. With sports demanding so much time from student-athletes it’s good to see how much school work matters to Fuller. He also realizes the importance of helping around his community to make other’s lives better.

“I ring the bell for the Salvation Army usually every year,” Fuller said. “My family also goes to the nursing home and help with diabetics or visit people who might not have any visitors during the holidays.”

Fuller’s priorities are very clear. The three things that are most important to him are his family, his grades and athletic career. His athletic abilities continue to climb at an astounding rate as he is involved in athletic activities year round, his grade-point average is an impressive 3.8, and his family has provided him with guidance and values. His future is bright, and his work ethic is what is ensuring that future is successful.
