On the softball field, the East Coweta Indians kept their undefeated season alive with a strong 9-1 win over class AAAAAA sixth-ranked Northgate. The Vikings were able to put a run on the board in the bottom of the first, but were held scoreless for the remainder of the game as the Indians tacked on two runs in the first, two in the third and a stellar five runs in the fifth to walk away victorious.
Jaliyah Jones took to the mound tonight and her performance led to a two-hit outing from the Vikings. On offense, Ashleigh Griffin and Caroline Lively both went 2-3 on the night while Lilly Agan smacked a three-run triple. Ansley Gunter also contributed by putting the bat on the ball and sending it over the fence for a home run. East Coweta will get a chance to keep its undefeated season alive when the Indians face off against Northgate again this coming Monday.
