Football team to host Greenbrier after bye

The football team had a bye this past weekend. The team is coming off its first victory of the season, a 27-16 triumph over neighborhood rival Washington on Sept. 12. The Astros have an 8 p.m. home date with Greenbrier on Saturday at Lakewood Stadium. The game against the Wolfpack (1-2) will be the first Region 2-AAAAA game for the Astros. Greenbrier is also coming off of bye week after a 14-7 loss to Lakeside-Evans. The two teams have never met before. … The boys and girls cross country squads will compete in The Mill Run on Saturday. The event is hosted by Chapel Hill High School at the Boundary Waters Complex in Douglas County. The Astros will join 28 other teams at the competition. … Senior linebacker Jonathan Atchison and junior defensive lineman Garrison Smith visited Auburn this past weekend for the LSU game. Atchison is currently committed to Auburn, but may also visit Alabama officially. The visit to Auburn was unofficial and Atchison will visit The Plains again in December or January for his official visit.
