Cambridge 22, Johns Creek 19

How the game was won: Victor Valentine hit a 37-yard field goal as time expired to give host Cambridge the win. The Bears had their biggest lead of the night, 16-6, in the third quarter before Johns Creek scored two touchdowns to tie the game with 45 seconds to play.

Top performers: Valentine was 3-of-3 on field goals, connecting on two short kicks in the first and fourth quarters before the game-winner. Kaelin Byrd of Cambridge scored the first touchdown, a one-yard run on 4th-and-goal, in the second quarter, and Reid Martin found Cameron Moore for a seven-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Cambridge blocked two Johns Creek PATs while getting one of its own blocked.

Woodward Academy 48, Henry County 6

 How the game was won: Jalen Polk returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to give Woodward Academy a 7-0 lead. Quarterback Ryan Glover piled on first quarter touchdown passes to Sultaan Shabazz (28 yards) and Joshua Johnson (51 yards) to give the War Eagles a 21-0 lead. Tahj Gary and Jalen Polk rushed for Woodward Academy touchdowns in the second quarter and Ryan Glover found JR Pace from 17 yards out for his third touchdown of the first half. Terry Myrick extended Woodward Academy’s 41-0 halftime edge with a 5-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to make it 48-0. Henry County’s Billy Jerome scored a 52-yard rushing touchdown with 5:26 left in the game.

Top performers: Woodward Academy’s Ryan Glover completed 10-of-12 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns. Tahj Gary finished with six carries for 74 yards and a touchdown to lead Woodward’s rushing.
