Fulton County Week 9 Scores/Results

Blessed Trinity 42, Chestatee 6

How the game was won: Blessed Trinity scored the first 42 points of the game to overwhelm visiting Chestatee. The Titans led 7-0 after one quarter, 21-0 by halftime and 42-0 going into the fourth quarter. Chestatee finally got on the scoreboard with a touchdown with nine minutes remaining.

Top performers: Ryan Davis returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown and also hauled in a 22-yard scoring strike from Jake Smith to lead Blessed Trinity. Smith threw two touchdown passes and the Titans got touchdown runs from Steele Chambers, Drew Nichols and Elijah Green. All three of the scoring scampers came from at least 25 yards away.

Lovett 46, Redan 26

How the game was won: Lovett opened the scoring with an interception return to the endzone by Charles Gibson and led from start to finish at the expense of visiting Redan. Each of Redan’s first three touchdowns was answered by a Lovett score, so the Raiders were never able to mount a serious charge. The Lions led 15-0 after one quarter, 22-7 at halftime and 32-13 through three quarters.

Top performers: Brady Tindall rushed for one touchdown and tossed three scoring strikes to K.J. Wallace as that duo led Lovett’s impressive offensive attack. The Lions also got a 24-yard touchdown run by J.T. Carr and a 31-yard field goal off the leg of Jack McGowan. Redan was paced by Cori Pritchett, who rushed for an eight-yard touchdown and hauled in two scoring strikes from Xavier Dennis. Dennis also threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to DeAundre Tolen.

Westminster 55, McNair 6

How the game was won: McNair scored a touchdown on a wide receiver pass on the first play from scrimmage, but visiting Westminster reeled off 55 unanswered points to dominate thereafter. The Wildcats took a 15-6 lead by the end of the first quarter, led 35-6 at halftime and found themselves ahead 48-6 going into the fourth quarter.

Top performers: Ward Croft threw two scoring strikes to Nance Hill and he also rushed for a 10-yard touchdown to lead Westminster. Croft connected with Hill from 14 yards out in the second quarter and on the first play from scrimmage of the second half with a 48-yarder. The Mustangs had attempted an onside kick that was unsuccessful immediately following halftime. Westminster recorded its two first-quarter touchdowns on runs of four yards and 27 yards by Ian Ude. The Wildcats also got touchdown rushes from Zay Malcolme, Ben Walker and Chance Loeffler.

South Forsyth 35, Milton 14

How the game was won: South Forsyth surged to a 14-0 second-quarter advantage and led 28-7 early in the fourth quarter before holding off visiting Milton. After pulling within 28-14 with 1:27 remaining in the game, Milton attempted an onside kick that was returned for a touchdown by the War Eagles’ Ryan Pontrelli to clinch the victory.

Top performers: Pontrelli scored South Forsyth’s last two touchdowns, as he also hauled in a 38-yard scoring strike from Davis Shanley in the fourth quarter. Shanley put the War Eagles on the scoreboard in the first quarter thanks to a 47-yard touchdown scamper. Jared Honey added two short scoring runs for South Forsyth. The Eagles’ first touchdown of the game came on a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Yates to William Kersey.

Fellowship Christian 42, Pinecrest Academy 28

How the game was won: Pinecrest cut the Fellowship lead to 35-28 before Paladins quarterback Jack Hardin scored on a 1-yard run with 9:11 to play for the final touchdown.

Top performers: All of host Fellowship’s touchdowns were on the ground. Hardin scored twice, as did tailback Merrick Haigler. Andrew Johnson and Andrew Minkert added the other two, with Minkert’s being a 40-yard TD in the third quarter to give the Paladins a 28-14 win to move to 7-0.
