GHSA coin flip gives top of bracket home field in quarterfinals

The GHSA held a coin flip Wednesday afternoon to determine which quarterfinal teams will be hosts in the event that two equal seeds meet. The result of the flip was that the top team would get home field.

Home field advantage in the playoffs is a major deal and it could be especially huge this season as 62 of the 64 No. 1 seeds advanced in the first round. After this determination, if two No. 1 seeds like Colquitt County and Norcross were to play in the quarterfinals, then Norcross would get to host based off the coin flip giving home field to the top of the bracket. The circumstances would be the same if two No. 2 seeds were to cross paths in the quarterfinals and the team at the top of the bracket would get to host.
