Norcross 37, Central Gwinnett 8

How the game was won: Norcross scored the first 24 points of the game to control the action against visiting Central Gwinnett early and often. The Blue Devils led 10-0 after one quarter, 17-0 at halftime and 24-0 going into the fourth. Central Gwinnett’s lone score came with 8:22 left in the game when Jarren Williams tossed a 40-yard touchdown pass to Josh Samuel. Norcross promptly added two late touchdowns to put the Black Knights away.

Top performers: Necholas Sermons opened the scoring with a three-yard touchdown run and he added a 19-yarder in the fourth quarter. Sermons’ second score was set up thanks to a 60-yard kick return by Jared Simpkins. The Blue Devils also got a touchdown run from Clay Harris, a 37-yard scoring strike from Baron Radcliff to Tamir Jones and a 48-yard field goal off the foot of Jake Camarda. Their night was capped off with a 97-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Jalen Peddrew.

Mill Creek 43, Collins Hill 7

How the game was won: The Hawks continued to roll, outgaining Collins Hill 350 to 127 in another lopsided victory. The Eagles had 47 yards of total offense before their late scoring drive as time expired in the fourth quarter.

Top Performers: Cameron Turley finished 8-of-16 for 174 yards and two touchdowns, hitting Edmond Graham for 70 yards and Ace Williams for 44. Graham returned a free kick 85 yards for a touchdown after Victor Heyward came away with a safety inducing sack. Jack Plummer took a punt to the house from 55 yards away. Anthony Presto tallied 11 carries, 82 yards and a touchdown. Cole Wroble added a 1-yard rushing touchdown.

Columbia 54, Clarkston 6
How the game was won: After two consecutive shutout losses, Columbia rebounded with a dominant 48-point blowout over Clarkston. The Eagles scored 47 points in the first half points.
Top Performers: Nine different Eagles found their way into the end zone with 21 of the 54 points coming from the defense and special teams.
Greater Atlanta Christian 35, Union County 12
How the game was won: Handing Union County their first loss of the season, the GAC Spartans had a commanding 28-3 lead at halftime. Union County pulled within two scores in the fourth quarter but fell short after a late Spartans touchdown to give GAC the 35-12 victory at home.
Top Performers: Davis Mills put on the show tonight, throwing for three touchdowns, all coming in the 1st half.

South Gwinnett 27, Hillgrove 13

How the game was won: South Gwinnett trailed a back-and-forth contest 13-12 going into the fourth quarter before taking control late against visiting Hillgrove. The Comets scored two touchdowns in the final eight minutes to get the job done. They led 9-0 in the first quarter before the Hawks reeled off 13 of the next 16 points, but the visitors failed to put up any points in the second half.

Top performers: Both of Hillgrove’s touchdowns came on passes from Bryson Parks to Chigoziem Okonkwo. Seth Johnston led the charge for South Gwinnett, as he scored the game’s first touchdown on the ground and clinched the victory with a 60-yard jaunt to the endzone with three minutes remaining.
