Jennings decides upon LSU

An exciting past 11 months got even better yesterday for Marietta quarterback Anthony Jennings. Jennings compiled 2,600 yards and 27 scores during an incredible junior year to lead the Blue Devils to the second round of the playoffs before taking MVP honors at the Atlanta Region Elite 11 competition. Jennings will head to California next month to compete in the Elite 11 finals with 20 other top quarterback prospects. Thursday, Jennings pulled the trigger on a commitment to Les Miles and LSU. Jennings chose LSU over offers from Wisconsin, Oregon, Missouri, Arkansas and South Florida. The rising senior and Marietta will compete in Region 4-AAAAAA next year against teams including McEachern, Hillgrove and North Cobb.

Notre Dame managed to snag a member of the Score Atlanta 24 2Look4 in 2012 list when ELCA’s Isaac Rochell pledged to the Fighting Irish earlier this week. The defensive end prospect played in the 2011 Rising Seniors Bowl and had racked up more than 30 scholarship offers since the end of last season.

As our Craig Sager II chronicled earlier this week, the Milton Eagles are loaded and looking for a return trip to the playoffs. Auburn-bound Carl Lawson Jr., may get many of the headlines, but a trio of offensive linemen could pave the way to success this season. Guard Josh Harris and center Cory Helms both pulled the trigger on commitments to Wake Forest this week. While both Harris and Helms project as interior linemen at the next level, Eason Fromayan should play tackle at the next level. According to 247sports.com and Rivals.com, Fromayan committed to Cincinnati yesterday. The three-star tackle stands 6-foot-5, 270-pounds. Ryan Jenkins and Peyton Barber each hold offers from a number of schools, and three more Eagles could also sign on National Signing Day in February.

Don’t sleep on Milton in that region, but Lassiter is loaded too.
