The senior guard was a key piece for the Milton Eagles this season, helping lead them to the Sweet 16. Cole had a productive career with the Milton Eagles program, winning a state championship as a sophomore and crossing 1,000 career points in high school. He also made the first-team all-region as a junior and senior. He had one of his best games in the Hawks Naismith Classic in December against the Norcross Blue Devils during his senior season. Cole finished with 23 points and knocked down seven three-pointers, showcasing his ability as an elite marksman.
He’s been making his rounds in the offseason, competing in the GBCA All-Star game (Georgia Basketball Coaches Association) and the SEBA (Southeast Basketball Academy) Senior Showcase. In the Showcase, he led his team (The Knicks) to a championship, finishing 5-0 in the showcase. Cole was also named to the first team at the event.
In terms of his ability on the next level, Cole is known for his knockdown shooting ability from three-point range and the ability to put the ball on the floor and create offense. He also plays with a high basketball IQ and has a relentless motor on the offensive end. He also plays under control and makes the right basketball play every time down the court. Despite being vastly underrated, Cole is a player who can make his mark on the collegiate level.
He is more than an athlete, which makes his resume more impressive. Cole is also a scholar and gets it done in the classroom, evidenced by his 4.0 GPA and earning the Hope and Zell scholarships at the conclusion of his high school career. He is a person and player that college programs would love to have and make a part of their programs.
Cole is the first commitment of the 2025 class for the Bears. Mercer went 14-19 and 6-12 in conference play a season ago. The Bears recently added Zaire Williams from Brooklyn, New York, to their roster in the transfer portal window. The regular period for signing the National Letter of Intent opened on April 17th and runs through the end of the school year, with a deadline on May 15th.
Cole will look to make an impact for the Bears next season when he arrives on campus in the fall and showcases his talent on the collegiate level.
