Despite a fourth straight 20-plus point night from star senior Diamond DeShields, Norcross was unable to protect a halftime lead in the finals of the Nike Interstate Shootout, falling to Central Catholic (Ore.) 68-61. Bri Williams’ 3-pointer gave Norcross a 33-32 advantage at intermission, and the Blue Devils would stretch the lead to 41-34 in the third. Central Catholic ended the third quarter on a 15-6 run by forcing Norcross into a series of turnovers and would go on to finish the game with a 19-14 advantage in the fourth. DeShields would finish with 28 points and Shayla Cooper finished with 18. Kailee Johnson (signed with Stanford) and Jordan Reynolds (signed with Tennessee) would each top 18 points for Central Catholic. The loss drops Norcross to 11-2. The Blue Devils next face Duluth this Friday as Region 7-AAAAAA play continues.
