After putting together an elite front-seven in its 2025 recruiting class, the Georgia Bulldogs continue to stock up on high-end in-state prospects, most-recently getting a verbal commitment from North Oconee star edge rusher Khamari Brooks Monday afternoon.
Brooks’ decision came down to Georgia and Alabama as the 4-star edge rusher out of Bogart, GA ultimately decided with the Bulldogs, bolstering Georgia’s elite defensive line.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound edge rusher is rated as a 4-star on most major recruiting sites around the country with 247Sports.com rating him as the No. 112 player in the country, the No. 14 edge rusher and the No. 13 player in the state of Georgia recruiting rankings.
Brooks is a matchup nightmare for opposing teams as he has showcased his versatility in the high school ranks playing on both sides of the ball for the North Oconee Titans. With his elite size and build, Brooks is capable of coming off the edge and wreaking havoc on the opposing teams quarterback or catching passes as a reliable tight end for your offense.
Off the edge last season, Brooks recorded 131 tackles with 17 for loss as well as 13 sacks while accounting for 31 receptions for 569 yards and nine touchdowns.
As good as Brooks was on the gridiron last season for North Oconee during its state championship run, the edge rusher is also more than capable of handling himself on the hardwood for the North Oconee basketball team, becoming a valuable piece to the schools back-to-back basketball state championships in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Georgia has continued to bolster its front-seven as Brooks joins last year’s impressive in-state defensive class which included defensive tackle Elijah Griffin, edge rusher Isaiah Gibson, edge rusher Zayden Walker and edge rusher Chase Linton.
That isn’t the only familiarity Brooks will have on the team as he will join fellow North Oconee Titan and Class 4A state champion, 4-star wideout Landon Roldan with the Bulldogs next season.
In the Class of 2026, Brooks is the 19th commitment to the Bulldogs joining the likes of high-profile talent such as 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis, 4-star Houston County safety Jordan Smith and 4-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko in another talented class for the Bulldogs.
