Offers stacking up for Marist’s Baker

Marist offensive guard Kendall Baker has been picking up offers left and right including two in the past two days. After Florida State first offered Baker back in June, the 6-foot-6 lineman rewarded the Seminoles by attending a Junior Day camp over the weekend. Since his return to Atlanta, Ole Miss came through with an offer on Tuesday before Auburn extended an offer yesterday. Baker currently holds five offers according to 247sports.com. With teams suddenly placing a greater emphasis on the interior of the offensive line and with the offense Marist runs, Baker’s stock should shoot up as we approach National Signing Day. … According to his twitter account, Norcross running back Myles Autry has picked up offer No. 24 as the Ole Miss Rebels have targeted the rising senior. Autry, who had limited but effective touches in the Class AAAAAA championship game, holds offers from ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big XII and Pac-12 schools. Look for Autry to continue to be one of the hottest names in Georgia recruiting circles as the Blue Devils attempt to defend their title in 2013. … Sandy Creek is getting a full court press from the University of Tennessee’s new coach Butch Jones. According to his twitter account, WR Demarre Kitt says the Volunteers have been “turning on the heat” with his recruitment and it may have been taken to another level recently. Kitt’s teammate, DT Chris Williams, was offered by the Vols as Jones is trying to swipe one impressive package deal out of Tyrone for Tennessee. … Finally, Centennial linebacker Ryan Bennett committed to Morehead State in Kentucky. Bennett, a team defensive co-MVP and member of the Region 6-AAAAAA second team, will play linebacker for the Division I-AA school that competes in the Pioneer League. According to Centennial head coach Jeff Carlberg, Bennett “put in a good day’s work each and every day.” Bennett also suited up in the 2012 Chamber Bowl with nine other Centennial teammates. Three other Knights have signed scholarships to play at the next level including Lorenzo Williams, Vincent Calhoun and Chase Rosenberg.
