How the game was won: Fitzgerald led 27-14 at halftime, helped out by two James Graham touchdown passes and one Graham rushing score.

Top performers: Graham found Jared Price for a 24-yard TD pass in the first quarter then had a 20-yard TD run in the period after Malik Balom picked up a fumble at the Fitzgerald 3 and returned it close to the 30. He hit Damien Devine in the second quarter for a 38-yard touchdown. Graham finished 6-of-12 passing for 117 yards, two TDs and one interception and rushed 17 times for 90 yards. Devine had a 1-yard rushing TD in the first quarter. JD King rushed 20 times for 124 yards, 101 in the second half, and a 20-yard scoring run in the third quarter. Thomasville quarterback Tori Sapp scored on two short runs.

Jefferson 31, Oconee County 7

How the game was won: Jefferson came out of the gates blazing with a touchdown in the opening minutes traveling 65 yards in 6 plays. They would score in a similar fashion again with a touchdown in 6 plays covering 80 yards. Oconee County responded with a 79 yard shovel pass with 37 seconds left in the first half, making the score 14-7 going into the half. Jefferson would score two more touchdowns and a field before winning their region championship.

Top performers: Oconee’s Roques Dowdy scored on the 79-yard pass. Colby Clark scored two touchdowns including a 30 yard run to score the first points of the game. Hayden Kilgore kicked a 35-yard field goal. Zack Boobas added a Jefferson rushing touchdown.

Peach County 24, Jackson 21

How the game was won: Peach County kicker Mitchell Fineran nailed a 35-yard field goal with 1:21 remaining in the game that proved to be the difference as the Trojans pulled past Jackson, 24-21.

Top Performers: Trojans quarterback Antonio Gilbert scored on a 13-yard touchdown run and connected with Devontae Howard and Kendrick Johnson on 22-yard touchdown passes. Jackson found scoring from Shaderius Crowder who connected with Deontae Barlow on a 94-yard pass and also threw another 26-yard touchdown pass. RB Antavius Grier scored on a six yard run.

Calhoun 48, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 0

How the game was won: The Calhoun Yellow Jackets overpowered a Lakeview program to put the game away and solidify its 16th region title in a row in 6-AAA. The Jackets were never challenged in the game.

Top Performers: The Yellow Jackets quarterback Gavin Grey went 6-for-6 for 202 yards and four touchdowns in the romp. Grey connected with four different receivers for touchdowns, Luke Jones (50), Bryson Davis (46 yards), Luke Moseley, (45 yards) and Ryan Randall (8 yards). The Jackets also converted three rushing touchdowns, Kenan Dixon (35 yards),Jess Ralston (30 yards), Zach Fuller, (5 yards).

West Laurens 42, Perry 6

How the game was won: West Laurens overpowered the Perry Panthers and jumped out to a 42-0 lead at halftime on the back of five Darius Bradford touchdowns. The Raiders were a perfect 6-of-6 in scoring touchdowns on first half possessions. West Laurens scored more touchdowns (four) than Perry ran offensive plays (three) in the second quarter.

Top Performers: Bradford scored on runs of 36, nine, four, three and two yards as West Laurens amassed 326 yards of rushing in the first half. Perry’s only score came on an 83 yard touchdown pass.
