Players to watch on Day 3 of the Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic 7-on-7

The Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic 7-on-7 is heading into Day 3, and the teams participating may be the best of any of the six days this year. Sixteen teams will compete for the crown at Georgia Tech in one of the most prestigious 7-on-7 tournaments in the state. Along with the teams comes a number of high end players.

Grant Haviland Milton TE 6-foot-5, 215

Haviland is one of the top tight ends in the class of 2027 and will finally be the starting TE for the Eagles after sitting behind Ryan Ghea and Ethan Barbour last season. Haviland is a traditional in-line tight end with the versatility to play out wide at the high school level. He already has 25 offers, including from schools like Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson. The 7-on-7 will be the first chance to see what his expanded role with the team will look like before his junior season.

Brayden Rouse Kell LB 6-3, 210

Rouse has been one of the quickest risers in the class of 2026. The 4-star linebacker has gone from a little-known prospect to someone mentioned in the same sentence as 5-stars Tyler Atkinson and Xavier Griffin, receiving comparisons to 2025 first-round NFL Draft pick Jihaad Campbell. Rouse is a fluid athlete who has played TE and WR in addition to his linebacker role with the Longhorns. The 7-on-7 will be a chance to see his growth since the end of the 2024 campaign and to evaluate him in a setting where many linebackers struggle.

Cayden Benson Creekside QB 5-11, 170

Benson is one of the most underrated players in the class of 2026. One of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state, he dominated last season. In his first season starting, he threw for 2,395 yards, rushed for an additional 1,085, and accounted for 42 total touchdowns, 30 through the air and 12 on the ground. The 7-on-7 is a setting where many dual-threat QBs struggle, losing a key part of their game. However Benson’s ability as a pocket passer will be on full display.

PJ Wolfe Norcross QB 6-4, 180

Wolfe is one of the most intriguing quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season. His size and raw talent are clear, but he must prove he can translate that into consistent on-field performance. He spent last season at Collins Hill, where he lost the QB battle to Makyree Cross. This season, he’s expected to be the starter for the Blue Devils. The 7-on-7 will be a prime opportunity to show his growth and potential.

Darnell Collins Rome WR 6-4, 190

Collins will be competing at his future college home, Georgia Tech, in the 7-on-7 tournament. A true X wide receiver, he is the highest-ranked WR to come out of Rome in some time. He’s a high-end athlete who both runs crisp routes and easily wins jump balls. He’ll have another opportunity to showcase his skills in front of his future college coaches.

Jordan Smith Houston County S 6-2, 185

Smith is one of the most under-the-radar superstars in the country. A top safety nationally and a UGA commit, Smith isn’t one to seek the spotlight, he focuses on football. On Thursday, his abilities will be on full display as he lets his play do the talking which he has done his entire career.

Kamden Jennings Denmark CB 5-10, 170

Jennings is a fast, physical cornerback with all the tools to be a shutdown defender for the Danes. A top-600 player in the country and an Eastern Michigan commit, he’s an old-school corner who excels in zone coverage thanks to his elite speed. He will be a valuable asset in the 7-on-7 setting, where teams only throw the ball.

Keyon Standifer Athens Academy WR 5-10, 170

Standifer is the prototypical slot wide receiver. His sophomore season was one of the most explosive in the state. He racked up 1,222 receiving yards, 19 touchdowns, and averaged 26.6 yards per catch. His elite route running and speed create consistent separation and explosive plays, something that makes him especially dangerous in 7-on-7 competition.

Derrick Baker Milton QB 6-2, 220

The next in a long line of Milton quarterbacks, Derrick Baker will look to replace the ultra-reliable Luke Nickel. Baker is in his first year with the program after spending his first two seasons in Florida. A 3-star QB with 22 offers, including from Auburn, FSU, and Ohio State, this event will offer the first real glimpse of what the defending state champions have at quarterback.

Kaleb Narcisse Kell QB 6-1, 210

Narcisse is entering his second season as the starting quarterback for the Longhorns and will be the key to their ceiling this year. While the team is among the most talented in 4A, they’ve fallen short of expectations over the past three seasons. Narcisse has started to receive offers, including one from Georgia Southern. Thursday will be a chance for him to show his continued growth and make a statement heading into the 2025 season.
