Players to watch on Day 4 of the Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic 7-on-7

We have reached the second week of the 2025 Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic 7-on-7 Tournament after a great first week that saw offenses get to work out their playbook and quarterbacks pushing the ball down the field a ton. The defenses put on a show as well with great coverage in the secondary and a lot of big pass breakups and interceptions.

Day 4 on June 17th will continue the excitement that was shown from the first three days of the tournament as there are some notable players to look out for at Georgia Tech on Tuesday.

Teddy Jarrard North Cobb QB 2027

Jarrard is the incoming quarterback for the Warriors as he succeeds Nick Grimstead. He likes to roll around in the pocket a lot as he shows great pocket awareness. Jarrard is a quarterback that dives deep into the playbook, excelling with post and fade routes, but also utilizing run-pass-option and play-action a ton. Last year was another standout season for him as he threw for 2,783 yards and 34 touchdowns. Jarrard’s big sophomore season was rewarded with offers from schools like Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, and many other notable Division 1 schools.

Darnell Kelly Langston Hughes QB 2026

Kelly returns to a Panthers team with high expectations as Langston Hughes has made it to the state title game three out of the last five seasons with a championship in 2022, Kelly’s freshman year. He is a dual-threat passer who often takes off down the field the majority of his snaps, but also works the sideline a lot by throwing a lot of out routes to his wide receivers. Kelly is a tough player to bring down when he goes with a quarterback keep as he rushed for 463 yards last season and scored five touchdowns on the ground. He passed for 2,521 yards and threw 28 touchdowns in his junior season. Kelly committed to the Colorado State Rams back on April 3rd after receiving 28 D1 offers.

Skylar Hamilton Landmark Christian QB 2026

Hamilton has a cannon of an arm as he thrives on working the deep ball with his receivers. He threw 20 touchdown passes while passing for 1,914 yards. Hamilton showed a lot of accuracy from his throws as he finished his junior season with a QBR of 101. He also did well on the ground game, rushing for 681 yards and nine touchdowns. Hamilton enters his senior season with the War Eagles looking to build off of the momentum they got from a season of improvement by going 7-4 overall last year. That marked the team’s first season with seven or more wins since 2016.

Zachary Belyeu North Cobb RB 2028

Belyeu had an explosive freshman season for the Warriors, rushing for 1,107 yards on 127 carries as he scored 15 touchdowns. He brings a lot of physicality to the run game as he uses his 5-11, 213 pound frame to run over defenders while sprinting down the field. Belyeu also shows elusiveness when he gets into the secondary, making a lot of defenders miss tackles on him. That outstanding freshman season earned him offers from Georgia, Auburn, Miami, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, and many other top schools.

Xavier Rucker Allatoona RB 2026

Rucker contributed majorly on both the run game and on the receiving end as he rushed for 1,135 yards on 174 carries while scoring 11 touchdowns. He can be a good blocker when he is not running the ball. When he gets a lane from his offensive line, Rucker immediately takes off after he gets the ball from the quarterback and does not the defense get close to him in an attempt to make a tackle. He committed to Georgia Tech on May 31 after receiving an offer from the Yellow Jackets on May 1.

Jo’Van Freeney Landmark Christian ATH 2026

Freeney is an underrated force on both sides of the ball. On defense he flourishes with locking down receivers and brings the aggression as he is a hard hitting defender. As a receiver he is a playmaker with all the one-handed catches he made last season, and he brings his aggression with good blocking for the other receivers and the running backs. Freeney caught 55 passes for 794 yards while scoring 10 touchdowns. On defense he had 12 pass breakups and 53 total tackles, leading the War Eagles in pass breakups.

Xavier Tiller Langston Hughes TE 2026

Tiller uses his 6-5, 219 pound frame as he shaves off tackles from defenders in the secondary. He is a relentless player as it takes many guys to bring him down before he gets to the end zone. Tiller’s junior season was an emerging season for him as he posted 25 receptions for 344 yards with the addition of three touchdown receptions for the Panthers.

Tim Sims Lovejoy ATH 2026

Sims makes plays all the time on offense, defense, and special teams for the Wildcats. His outstanding tackling ability has limited opposing receivers and running backs to small gains. He has a lot of speed which is beneficial for running seam routes and he is always determined to come down with the ball in the majority of one-on-one situations he is in. On offense, Sims caught 17 passes for 256 yards as he scored two touchdowns. Defensively he totaled 32 tackles for loss on 89 tackles, and recorded four sacks and five fumble recoveries. Sims also contributed on special teams with two blocked punts.

Rodney Colton Newnan LB 2026

Colton works as both a linebacker and a defensive end as he puts a lot of pressure on the quarterback, but can also stay back with the other Newnan linebackers to make quick tackles on receivers. He brings force to his tackles as he is a hard hitting linebacker for the Cougars. Colton totaled 51 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and six sacks in his junior season.

Chad Fairchild Lovejoy LB 2026

Fairchild is a big run stopper for Lovejoy as he is able to limit the opposition to a small gain, making the finishing tackle if it takes multiple Lovejoy defenders to make the stop. He excels with stopping outside zone runs. Fairchild is also solid with getting in the way of passing plays as he gets deflections on short passes over the middle.
