
In Class 6A, two-time defending Class 7A state champion Lowndes debuts at No. 1 and is followed by reigning Class 6A state champion Etowah—which is now in Georgia’s highest classification. Region 4 rivals Parkview, Grayson and Brookwood make up half of the top 6 with last year’s state runner-up Grayson returning at No. 5. Class 5A looks significantly different this year with the new landscape and is led by Houston County and Pope.
Class 5A is led by Houston County at No. 1 with Pope coming in at No. 2. Loganville, Greenbrier and Lassiter lead the top 5. Class 4A is stacked with No. 1 North Oconee ahead of powerhouses Cartersville, Blessed Trinity, Marist and Starr’s Mill. The Class 3A poll is led by Harlem at No. 1 and Cherokee Bluff at No. 2. Appling County debuts at No. 1 in Class 2A, Jeff Davis opens the year at the top of Class A Div. I and Lanier County returns at No. 1 in Class A Div. II after taking last year’s title. The newly-formed Class A-3A Private division opens with Prince Avenue Christian at No. 1 ahead of North Cobb Christian—the reigning Class 2A state champion.
