The 2025 Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 Classic at Georgia Tech went underway on Tuesday as high schools from all across the state of Georgia and various other southeastern states participated at the Yellow Jackets football facility.
Ahead of the second day of the Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 Classic at Georgia Tech, here’s some of the best players to watch from tomorrow’s teams:
New Manchester WR Jakobe Dejesus
At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds Dejesus has the measurables of a wideout at the college football level; he is more than capable of using his size and speed to his advantage. In his junior season a year ago, Dejesus finished second on the team in all-purpose yards compiling 565 receiving yards on 31 catches and was tied for a team-high eight receiving touchdowns last season. Dejesus only trailed recently-graduated senior wideout George Sabb for the most yards on the team in 2025. Last season Dejesus was a part of a New Manchester team that finished 2024 with an 8-3 record and a postseason berth before being eliminated in the first round. Dejesus holds offers from schools such as UAB, FIU, Old Dominion, Troy and Liberty before he hits the field for his senior season.
Collins Hill EDGE Katrell Webb
Coming off of a Purdue visit last weekend, Webb has continued to make a name for himself during his high school football career. Rated as a 3-star and the No. 61 player in the state in the Class of 2026 on 247Sports.com, Webb has received offers from college football programs such as Florida State, Mississippi State, Indiana, Purdue and Stanford along with more than 30 offers from major teams around the country. Webb being paired with 4-star defensive linemen, Deuce Geralds, make for a scary tandem on the Collins Hill defense. During the Eagles 11-2 season a year ago, Webb totaled 68 total tackles along with 29 tackles for loss on an impressive Collins Hill defensive unit.
North Paulding CB Markell Taylor
Rated as a 3-star and a top-100 player in the state of Georgia on 247Sports.com, Taylor is a big-bodied defensive back at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds that has done nothing but produce as a member of the Wolfpack football team. Taylor finished his 2024 season with North Paulding with the fourth-most tackles on the team, registering 51 a season ago. To go along with his 51 tackles, the defensive back recorded eight tackles for loss, tied for the most on the team a season ago. Taylor holds an offer sheet of more than 20 offers from places such as Cincinnati, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Wake Forest, Kansas State and a handful of others from all around the country.
Fellowship Christian RB CJ Givers
Following a successful 10-3 season a year ago, Givers and the Paladins are back in 2025, looking to win their seventh regional title in a row. From his running back position, Givers played a pivotal role for Fellowship Chrisitan, showcasing his ball-carrying ability in both the ground game and through the air. His versatility and ability as a playmaker in the open field gives Fellowship Christian some juice as another playmaker in the Paladins offense. Givers holds offers from 30 schools such as NC State, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Boston College and along with plenty of other schools all interested in the running back.
South Paulding QB Kade Wigginton
After throwing for 900 yards and 11 touchdowns through the air last season, Wigginton and the South Paulding Spartans look to get back on track after a 3-7 season a year ago. Last season was the first time since 2020 that the Spartans didn’t see the postseason as they look to right the wrongs in 2025. For Wigginton, 7-on-7s will be a great opportunity to continue building chemistry with his pass catchers. Wigginton’s top-three pass catchers from a season ago in Matt Patchin, Isaiah Ford and Kole Weisman all return in 2025 as the Spartans are poised to bounce back.
South Paulding LB Joakim Gouda
Gouda finished the 2024 season as a major piece of the South Paulding defense. Last season as a sophomore, Gouda continued to progress and showcase as to why he is one of the top players on the South Paulding roster. The sophomore linebacker holds offers from schools all over the country such as Minnesota, Vanderbilt, USF, Miami (OH), Kennesaw State and a few more as he will have plenty of opportunity to receive more with two seasons left of high school football left to play. Gouda and the Spartans will begin their season in the 2025 Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic where they will face a talented Kell team.
Fellowship Christian ATH Jonathan Granby
A more underrated prospect at this year’s Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 Classic, at Granby displays the measurables to be successful at the next level at 6-feet tall, 180-pounds. Granby holds offers from schools such as Georgia Tech, Cornell, Georgia State, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, and Yale and looks to continue to build that list heading into his senior season in the fall. In competing at the Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 Classic, Granby will have plenty of opportunity to make a name for himself in front of scouts and coaches over the summer before his senior season begins.
West Forsyth QB Max Walraven
After throwing for 2,131 yards, 19 passing touchdowns and having a 60% completion percentage a season ago, Walraven returned to a talented Wolverines roster where he led them to a successful, 9-4 record and a quarterfinals berth. Walraven holds offers from places such as Bucknell, West Georgia, Wofford and Furman and a handful of others as he looks to continue building his offer sheet into the 2025 season. Walraven and the Wolverines begin the 2025 season at home as a part of the 2025 Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic where they will face Douglass-Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. on day two of the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic.
Wesleyan ATH Carter Hayes
Following a 10-3 season a year ago before losing to Fellowship Christian in the postseason, Hayes returns to Wesleyan for his senior season after leading the program in most receiving statistics from a season ago. After totaling 58 receptions for 1,122 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, Hayes is once again ready to explode onto the scene where he was more than effective as a pass catcher. Hayes has received scholarship offers from schools such as Reinhardt and Hampden-Sydney College to continue his football career.
