Regular Season Performance Shows McEachern is Playoff Ready

The matchup between the No. 2 and No. 4 teams in Georgia was everything that it was billed to be. In a close game at home, the McEachern Indians edged the Pebblebrook Falcons 66-65.

“It was exciting. I mean those are the kinds of games you like to be involved in,” said McEachern head coach Mike Thompson.

With this win, the Indians move to 20-4 overall and 6-1 in the region. With the loss, the Falcons drop to 19-3 overall and 5-1 in the region. Coach Thompson’s team is very battle tested from having played and beaten multiple top teams.

“You know, we’ve played just about everybody that’s in the top 10 in the state, so it was good to get a win against a top team,” coach Thompson said.

For the Indians, their big stars: Chance Moore, Cameron McDowell and Mike Jacobs showed up to play. They scored a lot of points and clamped down on defense. This game had major playoff implications for both teams as McEachern is now tied for first place in their region.

The Indians have one more regular season game to play Tuesday at the Campbell Spartans. Coach Thompson sees this win as being good momentum for the Indians going into the playoffs.

“It’ll be good for us knowing that we’ve beaten most of the teams in the top 10,” coach Thompson said.
