The biggest 7-on-7 tournament in the country began its regional qualifiers yesterday at North Gwinnett, and PlayOn! Sports will continue streaming the final action today. Teams compete in a bracket-style tournament in hopes of earning bids to the national championship in Hoover in late July. The North Gwinnett Regional qualifier involved 18 teams from 15 different schools in a five-round double elimination bracket. Thursday was the pool play in which teams played six games for seeding in Friday’s bracket.

Alpharetta, Gainesville, Cherokee, Centennial, Jefferson County, Lassiter, North Gwinnett, Shiloh, Grayson, Archer, Spartanburg, GAC, Jonesboro, Olive Branch (Miss.), and Central Gwinnett will be the schools participating. North Gwinnett, Grayson and Lassiter each have a first- and second-string team competing.

Games last a total of 21 minutes. The first 20 minutes are a continuous clock and the final minute stops upon incompletions.
