Alexander Brewer became a coveted prospect, landing 15 offers a few weeks after the Georgia Elite Classic. Brewer has a massive frame at 6’4, 295 pounds and the ability to maul people out of the way. The Sequoyah offensive line and Brewer were instrumental in leading the charge for an offense that produced more than 5,000 yards of total offense and a 1,500-yard rusher in Will Rajecki.
Some of his notable offers included UNC Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Memphis, USF, and Colorado State. So what did it for Brewer and why did he chose to become a Colorado State Ram? He dives into his decision.
“I visited last weekend and was blown away by the environment at CSU. Coach Best is one of the best in the game, and I’m excited to go compete,” said Brewer.

He also credits the relationship he built with Colorado State offensive line coach Bill Best. Coach Best has a 20-plus year coaching pedigree with experience at Stephen F. Austin, Rice, Nevada, Colorado State, Ranger College, West Texas A&M, and Central Arkansas. A notable player he coached is Jacob Gardner, who earned honorable mention All-Mountain West. Brewer talked about his relationship with them.
“His belief in me as a player and the family atmosphere he and Coach Norvell created at Colorado State,” said Brewer.
Brewer also likes the idea of the outdoors at Colorado State and his ability to tap into some of his favorite hobbies. Some of his favorite activities include camping and fishing.
“The campus is beautiful and has a lot to do for somebody who likes being outdoors. Honestly, I don’t know the biggest fish I’ve caught, but I used to go almost every weekend when I was younger. I stopped for a while, but now that I will be so close to multiple places to fish in Colorado, I’m going to start going a lot more,” said Brewer.
Although Brewer is not rated on the major recruiting platforms, he is still a can’t-miss OL prospect. His ability to dominate in the trenches caught coaches’ eyes, and he has the ability to make an impact at the next level. Brewer and the offensive line were a part of the resurgence for the Sequoyah Chiefs, who last season won their most games in a season since 2004.
Brewer is the second commit from the state of Georgia to commit to the Rams, joining Langston Hughes quarterback Darnell Kelly as the other.
