Spring Practice Tour: Paulding County Patriots

I got the chance to go and check out the Paulding County Patriots, a team that has some really good pieces. After going 2-8 in 2024, you will see an improved team in 2025.

They play in a tough region that includes McEachern, Hillgrove, and Pebblebrook, but I think you will see them make a push for the playoffs this upcoming season. Head coach Justin Pressley has a good pulse on the team, and I was impressed by how he coached the guys up and his demand of excellence. Coach Pressley has a physical unit with great attention to detail.

Their star player is 4-star OL Tyreek Jemison, who is a load on the offensive line. He’s gotten taller and shed some weight this offseason, coming down from 330 pounds to 310 pounds. He’s also grown to 6-foot-5. In practice, showcased the ability to open up gaping holes and get to the second level quickly. He has only improved this offseason and is a true anchor on the offensive line, being able to pass protect and also run block. Jemison has nearly 50 offers, and college coaches keep calling to see the talented offensive lineman. He practically checks every box of what you are looking for at the offensive line position. He is a leader, physical, has great footwork, and a nastiness about him that you need in college.

Another player who caught my eye was RB Andre Gianopoulos. He is a downhill runner who possesses really good contact balance and strength. He has a really good burst that allows him to hit the second level quickly. Last season, he was the leading receiver for the Patriots, finishing with 62 catches for 637 yards and four touchdowns. It is likely you will see Gianopoulos line up in various spots from wide receiver to running back, which showcases his true versatility.

Kedrin “K.J.” Clepper is an underrated QB with a lot of upside who has a strong arm and possesses great athleticism. He was moving up in the pocket and kept plays alive with his legs while also looking downfield and making some nice throws. When he wasn’t showing off his arm, Clepper was doing damage with his legs and consistently moving the chains in practice. An underrated part of his game is his accuracy and the ability to put it on his receivers even in tight windows. That was on full display in practice as he continuously marched down the field for touchdowns against the first-team defense. The 2027 QB is flying under the radar but has a lot going for him.

Another standout from practice was 2026 WR Riley Jefferies, who kept making spectacular play after spectacular play. He has one catch where he made multiple defenders miss on his way to the endzone, showcasing how shifty he is and his ability in space. He made another play in the middle of the endzone where he absorbed a hit but still hauled in a pass. Last season, Jeffries finished with 34 catches for 418 yards and three touchdowns. When you watch his film, and see him in person, you can see the improvement and how comfortable he is in the offense, knowing where he is supposed to go and consistently finding the open area in the defense.

Overall, I think you will see the Patriots take a big jump forward in 2025, and they have a team that will compete. From the coaching staff to the players, this team is bought in and wants to take the next step. With a good amount of seniors returning, they should be primed to do just that.
