Class 6A-7A fourth-ranked Centennial served the class A-5A first-ranked Lovett lacrosse team its first loss of the season in a thrilling overtime finish.
With both teams scoring four goals in the first quarter, the Knights took a one-point lead in the second with two more goals. The Lions didn’t falter just yet as they outscored Centennial 4-2 in the third, and would go up 12-10 with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Maryland commit Ryan Siracusa scored his fourth goal of the night to make it a one goal game, and freshman Coleman Smith drained the tying goal to send the game into overtime at 12-12. Siracusa once again put the ball through to the back of the net to score his 365th career goal and give the Knights the win. Siracusa ended the night with five goals, while junior Sam Risse and senior Matthew Mayville each added two goals apiece.
