Week 10 Girls Basketball Rankings

In Class 6A, No. 1 North Forsyth picked up victories over North Atlanta and Alpharetta this past week. North Paulding, Grayson, Archer, and Campbell round out the top five. No. 2 North Paulding defeated No. 5 Holy Innocents 73-72 in a thrilling game. No. 5 Campbell suffered an out of state loss to Chattanooga Christian 67-66. Carrollton, Newton, Cherokee, Lowndes, and Buford round out the top 10.

In Class 5A, No. 1 Hughes remains the top team after picking up victories over Newnan and Dutchtown this week. River Ridge, Woodward Academy, Morrow, and Milton round out the top five. No. 3 Woodward Academy defeated No. 5 Milton 65-60. River Ridge went 3-0 this past week and knocked off No. 10 Creekview. Tri-Cities, Bradwell Institute, Creekview, Arabia Mountain and Pope, round out the top 10. No. 1 Hughes will face No. 2 St. Francis in a top ranked matchup on Monday night.

In Class 4A, No. 1 Creekside continues to look impressive and knocked of M.L. King, Jackson-Atlanta, and No. 9 Lowndes. Marist, Warner Robins, Kell, and Jackson-Atlanta round out the top five. Despite Jackson-Atlanta’s loss to Creekside they have shown they are a top five team in 4A. North Oconee, Midtown, Jones County, Ware County and Stockbridge round out the top 10. Creekside will face Midtown in a top 10 showdown this week.

In Class 3A, Pickens picked up victories over Dawson County and Chestatee. Baldwin, Jefferson, Luella, Oconee County round out the top five. Fayette County, White County, Sandy Creek, Cherokee Bluff, and Dawson County round out the top 10. No. 6 Fayette County defeated No. 8 Sandy Creek 65-62 in a top 10 showdown. No. 9 Cherokee Bluff is hanging on to its top 10 spot despite losses to Oconee County and Jefferson.

In Class 2A, there is a new No. 1 team after Thomson defeated Josey 61-49 on Friday. Thomson now takes the top spot and Josey slides to No. 2. Murray County, Butler and Sonoraville round out the top five. A massive top five showdown between Thomson and Butler will take place this Tuesday. Sonoraville handed Murray County its first loss of the season and jumped into the top five. Hardaway, Columbia, Coahulla Creek, Tattnall County, and Union County round out the top 10.

In Class A Div I, No. 1 Elbert County suffered its first loss of the season to Banks County 52-36. Fannin County, Model, Central-Macon, and Lamar County round out the top five. Washington County, East Laurens, Temple, Bleckley County, and Banks County round out the top 10. Banks County enters the poll for the first time and Putnam County slides out of the poll.

In Class A Div II, No. 1 Taylor County defeated Chattahoochee County and Schley County this past week. Bryan County, Wilcox County, Telfair County, and Early County round out the top five. Macon County, Seminole County, Brooks County, Screven County, and Randolph-Clay, round out the top 10.

In Class A-3A Private, No. 1 Hebron Christian picked up a victory over Stephens County. No. 2 St. Francis defeated No. 3 Mount Paran Christian 72-64 in a top five matchup. SACA and Holy Innocents round out the top five. Greenforest, Galloway, Greater Atlanta Christian, Athens Academy, and Whitefield Academy round out the top ten.
