Week 3 Boys Cross Country Rankings

There is little change in the Class AAAAAA rankings this week as many of the top teams were off this past weekend. Woodstock and Lakeside, Dekalb make their debut in the rankings at No. 9 and No. 10 respectively. Woodstock is coming off of 17:00 average time at the 4th Annual at&t Starr’s Mill Panther XC Meet in Fayetteville, GA. Lakeside, Dekalb also ran a 17:00 two weeks ago at the Bob Blastow Early Bird.

The lone new member to the Class AAAAA rankings is Sequoyah after an impressive showing at the 4th Annual at&t Starr’s Mill Panther XC Meet. The Chiefs finished a modest 10th overall with a time of 17:51.

In Class AAAA, there is some shakeup at the bottom of this week’s top ten. White County earned a spot in the rankings coming in at No. 6 after a solid 18:09 avergae time at the Berry College Clara Bowl Invitational. Heritage, Catoosa also makes its way into the rankings at No. 7 after running an 18:10 at the same event.

Calhoun debuts at No. 7 in this week’s Class AAA rankings. The team is coming off of a 19:02 showing at the Pickens Preview two weeks ago. Also debuting is No. 9 Morgan County who ran a 19:04 at their home meet last week.

Greater Atlanta Christian jumped from out of the rankings to No. 5 in the AA. The Spartans ran a time of 19:04 at the 13th Annual Fall Runaway HS/MS Meet less than two weeks ago. Bremen takes hold of the No. 7 spot after a 19:27 average at the Bob Blastow Early Bird, and Benedictine comes into the rankings at No. 10 after running a 20:38 at the Southeast Bulloch High Home Meet.

The top five remain the same in the Class 1A-Private rankings. Debuting at No. 7 this week is Our Lady Of Mercy after their 19:57 average time at the 4th Annual at&t Starr’s Mill panther XC Meet. Also debuting this week is Mt. Paran Christian. They came in at No. 8 their 20:01 performance at the same event.

Although no new teams entered the Class 1A-Public rankings, there was some shifting. Hawkinsville made the biggest move jumping from No. 8 to No. 2 after running a time of 22:20 in their last race. Baconton Charter jumped five spots to No. 5 after their 24:13 performance at the Cougar XC Challenge two weeks ago.
