GAME PREVIEW HERE

Naples (Fla.) at Immokalee (Fla.)  CSS WEB GAME

Last season, Naples pounded the rock down the heart of the Immokalee defense for 340 yards on 51 carries. Naples threw the ball just five times and completed three of the tosses for 123 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles rolled to a 55-29 victory. This year, a similar rushing attack awaits the Immokalee defense. Max Joseph, Garret Zech, Carlin Fils-Aime and Michael Walker are all Naples underclassmen who have found the end zone at least five times this season. The Eagles are averaging nearly 300 yards rushing per game and almost nine yards per carry.

The Indians enter the game, winners of their last four, and have allowed just 11.75 points per game during the span. Seniors Jimmy Bayes and Johnson Louigene have combined for 11.5 of Immokalee’s incredible 24 tackles for a loss this season.

Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) at McCallie (Tenn.) CSS WEB GAME

Brentwood Academy comes off its most dominating performance of the season, a 57-6 rout of Pope John Paul II (Tenn.) on Friday. The Eagles gained 349 yards of offense, and held the Knights to just 68 yards in the first half despite allowing a 50-yard play. Senior quarterback Tyler Swafford completed 11 of 16 passing for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns went to C.J. Sanders, who also scored on a 1-yard run in the win.

Last season McCallie tried to keep pace with Brentwood Academy, but fell short in a 63-42 shootout. McCallie has fallen victim of a grueling schedule and has lost four straight games after a promising start. The losses came to Siegal, Bowling Green, Ensworth and Baylor, all excellent teams.

Clover (S.C.) at Northwestern (S.C.)

Northwestern quarterback Mason Rudolph is having a remarkable season. The Oklahoma State-commit is completing over 72 percent of his passes and has thrown 20 touchdowns and just two interceptions on the year. Northwestern’s 42-35 overtime win over Byrnes (S.C.) earlier this year has gotten the Trojans national attention as they currently sit just outside the top 10 on many national polls at 6-0.

Rudolph completed 25 of 39 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown and also ran in two scores in the Trojans’ 29-0 win over South Pointe last Friday. Northwestern has shutout its last two opponents, something that Clover does not want to hear after falling 52-0 to the Trojans last season.

Oak Grove (Miss.) at Meridian (Miss.)

Oak Grove knocked off previously undefeated Petal (Miss.) on Friday 31-14 behind a solid ground game and a swarming defense. Oak Grove, which normally relies on a strong passing attack behind offensive coordinator and former NFL great Brett Favre, took to the ground. Running back Mike Anderson had a game-changing 64-yard touchdown run in the win and quarterback Kirk McCarty continued his solid season. McCarty has now completed 120 of 199 passes for 1,860 yards and 20 touchdowns on the year.

Meridian has a well-balanced attack and its only loss was to powerhouse South Panola (Miss.) early this season. Junior quarterback Jamarius Smith has completed 60 of 118 passes for 1,062 yards, 12 touchdowns and just one interception this season.

Smiths Station (Ala.) at Opelika (Ala.)

In this battle of region-rivals and unbeatens, Smiths Station looks to avenge an embarrassing 21-3 loss last year to Opelika and grab the 2013 Region 3-6A region crown. Smiths Station will run the football and has found the end zone 27 times on the ground this season. Leading the way is junior Amante Caban who plays the role of finisher with his eight touchdowns this season.

Opelika quarterback Matthew Christian was 12-of-19 passing for 197 yards and two touchdowns in Opelika’s 56-20 win over Lanier (Ala.) last week and the Bulldogs’ workhorse, Reggie Hall, had another big game. Hall rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and also caught a 69-yard heave from Christian in the second quarter. Hall has carried the ball 107 times this season and has gained 666 yards, scored nine touchdowns and also recorded a pair of receiving scores. Hall is a game-changer with big-play potential and has rushed for a 78-yard touchdown this season and also torched the defense for a lengthy 70-yard reception.
