Will Rajecki A Hot Name In Recruiting After Productive Junior Season

Will Rajecki is no longer an unknown name in Georgia after a dynamic 2024 season.

His breakout started with a change in offensive philosophy. Sequoyah was known for predominantly a Wing T offense and moved over to more of a traditional offense and saw an explosion in production.

“At Sequoyah, we have traditionally been a Wing-T offense,” said Rajecki. “This past spring, our coaches got together and changed up our offense a little bit to fit the players that we have. Between that and our offensive line, along with hitting the weights and putting on 25lbs was definitely a big part of my success.”

That offensive change led to Rajecki rushing for 1,541 yards and 21 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. What is most impressive is how big of a threat he became in the passing game this year. He was a weapon for the Chiefs and was the second-leading receiver on the team. He finished with 2,723 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns. Rajecki also played in the Georgia Elite Classic at McEachern in December, had a good outing, and showcased his talent.

“That was my 2nd time playing in the GEC. It’s always fun to be able to play one more game after the season. I definitely enjoyed getting more training from different coaches with different styles. Of course, it’s always an honor to play with/against the best in the state. This year my younger brother Jacob got to play on the 9th grade team which was a lot of fun to watch him. I am looking forward to him playing varsity next season,” said Rajecki.

He’s become a hot name landing offers from all over and a plethora of D1 programs are interested in him. Some of those interested in in-state programs include Georgia State, Georgia Tech, and Georgia.

“I currently have offers from Georgia Southern, Memphis, Kansas State, and Charlotte. I have also been talking with UGA, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Coastal Carolina, and Stanford.

Rajecki dived into some of his recent offers from UNC Charlotte, Kansas State, and Memphis.

“Coach Metz at Charlotte came by yesterday and offered me. He was easy to talk to. He told me about their program and the surrounding area and how it would be a good fit for my outdoor lifestyle (hunting and fishing),” said Rajecki.

Kansas State is known for producing top-end running backs that put up numbers. This past season DJ Giddens was a stud for the Wildcats rushing for 1,343 yards and seven touchdowns. He took notice and loved the atmosphere and fandom at Kansas State.

“Kansas State is an RB factory. They have an electric fan base and a beautiful facility. I had a great conversation with Coach Anderson that made it seem like a really good fit for me,” said Rajecki.

“I went on a game day visit to Memphis this past fall. The coaching staff were all very welcoming. I love the stadium and the facilities. Coach Marks has a lot of faith in me and thinks that I could come in and be an impact player,” he said.

With spring right around the corner, Rajecki’s visit list is starting to take form and he is eyeing some programs that he wants to check out and visit. None of these are official but these are programs he has his eye on.

“I plan to visit Memphis, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Georgia Southern, and Stanford.

He was an underrated prospect coming into his junior year but has since blown up and is becoming a top running back in the 2026 class. He was named AJC 5A all-state, first-team all-region, and first-team all-county for his efforts in 2024. Rajecki was also named Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News Offensive Player of the Year.

“It’s nice to get recognition for all the hard work that I put in, but I definitely would not have been able to do it without my O-line. Coach Beckwith at Beckwith Sports Academy has helped me with my agility and footwork. He is going to be a huge part of a successful senior season. This offseason, I’m going to focus on my top-end speed and aggressive pass blocking,” said Rajecki.

Sequoyah and Rajecki had an improbable run to the quarterfinals and it was one of the best seasons in program history for the Chiefs. One of his biggest games came against 5A power Gainesville. He rushed for more than 200 yards and made the Red Elephants’ defense pay. He had nine games with over 100 yards rushing.

“My favorite part of my journey so far has been playing with my teammates/brothers that I have been with since third grade. We have worked really hard to get to this point. We were able to make it to the state playoffs and advance to the elite eight. We were given zero chance against state powerhouse Gainesville High School. My offensive line played their butts off led by my QB Kolby Martin,” said Rajecki. “I had over 200 yards and five touchdowns to help lead our team to victory. The very next day I received my first division one offer from Coach Reed at Georgia Southern. That’s a day I will never forget. I love the culture at Southern and am thankful for Coach Reed being the first to believe in me.”

The road is just starting for Rajecki as he looks to continue to perfect his craft and improve this offseason. He is looking forward to a big senior season for the Chiefs and a deeper run in the postseason. He is more than capable of making a defense pay if they don’t game plan for him.

“The process is just getting started for me,” said Rajecki. “It’s crazy how fast it got here. My family and I are just praying for the right fit and that God puts me where I’m supposed to be.”
