In a game that sent shockwaves across the state, North Gwinnett fell to Meadowcreek 57-55 when Terrance Snelling nailed a 35-foot shot just before the buzzer sounded to lift the Mustangs past the Bulldogs in the Region 7-AAAAAA playoffs and into the state playoffs. The Bulldogs end the season 19-6 as Tobias Howard scored 22 but it was not enough to get past the 9-17 Mustangs. Snelling finished with 15 points. ... Amir Warnock led Peachtree Ridge with 11 points as the Lions slipped past Duluth 47-42. Peachtree Ridge next faces Meadowcreek. ... Armel Potter drilled a 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left to send Sprayberry past North Springs 53-50 in the Region 7-AAAAA quarterfinals. Potter led Sprayberry with 16 points while Torrey Richardson added 13. ... McEachern's Logan McIntosh beat the buzzer when he drove the length of the court to notch the game-winning layup in a 60-58 victory over South Cobb. Deonta Patterson paced McEachern with 21 points while Jalil Braxton scored 14 according to the Marietta Daily Journal. ... In the performance of the night, Jones County's Jarquez Smith scored 20 points, gathered 14 rebounds and blocked 11 shots as Jones County cruised to a 65-43 win over Grovetown. Jones County's defense held Grovetown scoreless for the first 7:55 of the game as the team went 0-for-15 to begin the game. ... Kyle Castlin scored 29 points as Hillgrove took apart Pebblebrook 68-56 to clinch a state playoff berth. It is the sixth time in Hillgrove history the team has made the state playoffs. ... Randolph-Clay proved worthy of the Class A No. 1 ranking by destroying the Baker County girls 69-26 in the Region 1-A tournament. Adriana Blackmon led Randolph-Clay with 15 points. ... Taylor County rallied for a 61-60 victory over Lamar County in the Region 4-AA tournament to punch its ticket to the state playoffs. A'Ja Johnson's 23 points were not enough for Lamar County as Taylor County cobbled together an 11-0 run to open the fourth quarter and grab the lead.
