The No. 7 Wildcats improved their football record to 2-0 after a 42-24 come-from-behind victory over local rival Woodward Academy (ranking is according to Week 3 GPB/Score Prep rankings). The team scored 28 points in the second half to overcome a 17-14 halftime deficit. Stephon Shelton led the Cats with 147 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Shelton helped give Westminster their first lead of the game with a 57-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. Quarterback Tom Moak accounted for two touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air. The boys cross country squad won the Berry Invitational on Saturday. Westminster won the meet by placing six runners in the overall top 20. Mohamed Egal led the team by finishing second overall. Mac Stormont finished sixth while William Barber (13th), Cody Tedesco (19th), and Tyler Cooke (20th) also finished in the top 20. The softball team won one and lost one during the past week. The team defeated Central Gwinnett 4-3 on Sept. 2 and then dropped a disappointing game to Decatur on Thursday. The Decatur loss hurt most, as the team led the game 3-0 at home before losing 6-3.
