Hoops rankings: Wheeler, Tift stumble; Westlake tops 6A

In Class AAAAAA, No. 1 Wheeler dropped to No. 3 after suffering a 48-41 loss to Milton on Saturday. No. 2 Tift County was handled by Valdosta 65-51 and slid down to No. 4 after the loss. Westlake (24-2) reclaims No. 1 in Class AAAAAA and bounced back from its only in-state loss of the season last week (76-75 to Tri-Cities) with wins over East Coweta, Hughes and Newnan. Milton moved up two spots to No. 7 after the win over Wheeler and a 68-63 loss to No. 6 Walton earlier last week. Hillgrove dropped two losses in region play to Pebblebrook (48-42) and Kennesaw Mountain (73-70) and exited this weeks poll. Pebblebrook (19-5) debuts in the poll at No. 8.

In Class AAAAA, Stephenson moves into the top 5 with its 45-42 win over Tucker and Heritage-Conyers makes its debut at No. 10. The Patriots replaced Villa Rica, who lost consecutive games to South Paulding and New Manchester.

Columbia remains No. 1 in Class AAAA, but Alexander is the new No. 2 after South Atlanta's 68-56 loss to Grady this weekend. Rutland dropped out of the top 10 after its 78-65 loss to West Laurens and Riverdale makes its debut at No. 10.

In Class AAA, St. Pius X moved up two spots to No. 7 after a 63-61 win over Blessed Trinity. Cedar Grove replaces Woodward Academy at No. 10 after beating the War Eagles 49-41 this weekend.

No. 10 Taylor County topped No. 9 Crawford County this week 77-69 and moves up to No. 9 in this weeks poll. Crawford County was bumped out of the top 10 and was replaced by Northeast-Macon.

In Class A, North Cobb Christian dropped one spot to No. 5 after a 67-62 loss to No. 3 St. Francis. Landmark Christian moved up into the No. 4 spot with an impressive win 83-75 win over Mount Vernon. Randolph-Clay fell out of the top 10 after its 64-53 loss to Calhoun County and was replaced by Athens Christian, who debuts at No. 9.
