On Oct. 10 against the Berkmar Patriots, the football team fell just shy of doing something it hadnt done since 2001: win twice in one season.Hosting the Patriots on Homecoming night, the Mustangs were buoyed by the return of their senior quarterback Sean Frezell, who missed the previous game with an ankle injury. Frezell put the Mustangs on top 7-0 when he hooked up with Quenton Brown midway through second quarter on a 9-yard touchdown pass, but the Patriots shut the door on Meadowcreek soon after, scoring 10 unanswered points over the remainder of the game to win 10-7. Off last Friday, the Mustangs will travel this Friday to take on the undefeated Grayson Rams, ranked No. 6 in the GPB/Score Prep Top-10 Rankings, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rams Senior Night game. The cross country team competed at the Gwinnett County Cross Country Championships. Top runners were Joshua Allensworth at 18:44.53 on the boys side and Danielle Banks at 24:40.88 on the girls side. Head coach Brian Williamsons volleyball team ended its year with a 7-22 regular-season record.
