Since 2006, Kennesaw Mountain and North Cobb have competed for the Civil War Trophy in football. This year, the Mustangs took home the trophy with a convincing 13-0 win.The team ran for 261 yards as Clayton Whitlock had 64 yards and one touchdown while Rashaud Moore contributed 69 yards. The offense controlled the ball for much of the game, helping the defense pitch the shutout. The Mustangs improved to 3-1 and will take on Harrison in another rivalry showdown this Friday. In softball, the Lady Warriors have won 12 straight games and are led by pitcher Tatum Vanloan, who has nine of their 13 wins overall. The Mustangs will travel to Cherokee on Tuesday. The volleyball team split two games last Thursday, beating Milton (31-29, 25-21) and losing to Pope (20-25, 20-25). On Saturday, the No. 4 Lady Mustangs split four matches in the Fulton/Cobb Challenge at Roswell (ranking is according to the Week 5 GaSports.com rankings). The team defeated Alpharetta and Roswell while losing to Chattahoochee and Northview.
