Pre-Playoff Volleyball Rankings

In Class 7A, Walton returned to No. 1 heading into the playoffs after scoring a 3-2 win over North Cobb on Thursday to take the top seed into the playoffs. North Cobb had previously defeated the Raiders 3-1 on Tuesday. Waltons win snapped North Cobbs 18-game win-streak and the Raiders rallied after dropping the first two sets 25-21, 25-22 with a 25-15 win in the third set, a 25-17 fourth-set win and a region championship-clinching 15-11 fifth set victory. Cherokee slid from No. 4 to No. 7 and Buford moved up to No. 4 with its seven-game win-streak. The first round of the state playoffs will be played on Tuesday (Class 2A, 4A and 6A) and Wednesday (Class 7A, 5A, 3A and 1A). In Class 7A, West Forsyth will visit Norcross in a top 10 first round clash.

The Class 6A poll saw Pope return to No. 1 after its 3-1 win over Alpharetta (33-3) on Saturday that snapped the Raiders 32-game win-streak and served them their first loss within Class 6A. Pope, meanwhile improved to 35-3 and has a nine-match win-streak heading into its first-round matchup with Woodstock, which is one of the more talented No. 4 seeds in the bracket with its 30-9 record.
