PREPS: Boys hoops rankings - Week 4

Several of the state's most highly ranked teams competed in tournaments and invitationals over weekend, despite being knee-deep in region play. One of the most high-profile of those events was the Marriott Invitational, which as held at Norcross over the weekend.

At Norcross, Miller Grove was beaten for the first time this season by Dr. Krop (Fla) 70-63. Also at the Marriott, Class 5A No. 1 Milton had an impressive victory over Seattle powerhouse Rainier Beach 66-50 (go HERE for more about the Eagles' win).

On Friday night, Walton defeated the team from Seattle, while Mill Creek fell to Dr. Krop. Former Class 2A No. 1 GAC fell to Sagemont (Fla), and subsequently fell to No. 2 in this week's rankings. Battle-tested Norcross, who sports a losing record, remains ranked at No. 10 after a 77-40 waxing of Sumter (SC).

Meanwhile, Columbia and South Atlanta went up to Morgantown, WV and emerged undefeated for the weekend. Columbia defeated Jameson-Dewitt (NY) and Thomas Jefferson (NY) while South Atlanta nipped New York City powerhouse Christ the King 77-76 and took over the No. 1 spot in Class 2A as a result.
