Both the boys and girls cross country teams enjoyed a week off, but they will return to action on Saturday in the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational. The race takes place at the Georgia International Horse Park at Conyers and begins at 8 a.m. The race features top teams from across the state, such as Brookwood, whose boys team was ranked No. 1 in all classifications in the Week 4 rankings from Gatfxc.com. The softball team faces a busy week. The Lady Pythons face Whitefield Academy on Thursday at home at 5 p.m., and travel to Towns County for a 4 p.m. Friday game. The team also has an 11 a.m. Saturday matchup, then will close the regular season at home against Landmark Christian at 5 p.m. Region 7-A Tournament play begins the following day. The volleyball team lost to Greater Atlanta Christian in straight games, 25-11, 25-11. The girls return to action this week when they hit the road to face Atlanta International on Thursday at 6 p.m., and then travel to Druid Hills on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
