Softball rankings: Collins Hill remains No. 1 despite loss

Defending Class AAAAAA championCollins Hillstill finds itself atop the rankings despite a 3-1 loss toBrookwoodlast Saturday. That is the only blemish so far for the Eagles, who hammeredSouth Effingham- a ranked team in Class AAAAA - 9-1 last Friday.Brookwood, meanwhile, held steady at No. 4 after also taking losses toEffingham Countyand South Effingham. Effingham County climbed to third in Class AAAAA.
Making new appearances in the top 10 arePopeat No. 10 in the highest classification,Greenbrierat No. 10 in Class AAAAA andTaylor Countyin the 10th spot in Class A-Public.

In Class A-Private,ELCAis out of the No. 1 position andPrince Avenue Christianis in. ELCA has been testing itself early against tough opposition and although losses have come to teams in higher classifications, they were enough to alter the rankings. Prince Avenue Christian is undefeated through two games and has not allowed a run.
