The Vikings suffered another loss to start the season, this one at the hands of Southwest DeKalb on Friday. They gave up 51 points in the first half, and the Panthers picked up the 51-0 victory in the second half while emptying the bench. Its been a difficult season thus far for the young Vikings, who start 12 sophomores and have only scored two touchdowns this season. They currently sit at 0-4. Another tough battle awaits them next week against Chamblee on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The softball team lost to Marist 14-1 on Wednesday, but took another step towards a state tournament berth on Thursday with a 9-0 win over Tucker. A crucial home matchup with region rival Chamblee looms on Thursday. Cross country returns to action to action this week against some of the top teams in the state at the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational at Conyers Horse Park. The boys were ranked No. 4 in Class 4A in the latest rankings from Gatfxc.com, while the girls were ranked No. 3.
