In Class 7A, No. 1 ranked Collins Hill exploded to a 36-10 win over Brookwood. Five-star Travis Hunter tallied 13 catches for 232 yards and two touchdowns and threw a 28-yard touchdown pass. His quarterback Sam Horn finished 31-44 passing for 402 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown. No. 2 Milton dominated Hapeville Charter 45-0 and did it with LT Overton on the sideline with a minor injury. Overton is the teams returning sack leader and is the No. 1 ranked player in the nation for the Class of 2023. Walton improved to No. 3 following a thrilling 34-28 overtime win over Lowndes and the Vikings come in at No. 7 following that defeat. Mill Creek debuts at No. 6 following its 43-10 win over Parkview and Colquitt County debuts at No. 4 after topping Marietta 28-25. Marietta was ranked No. 5 in the preseason rankings and falls to No. 4 after the loss. Additionally, Cherokee replaced Grayson at No. 10 following its 52-6 win over Mays and North Cobb slid from No. 3 to No. 8 after dropping a 35-27 thriller to Class 6A No. 1 Buford.

Buford takes over No. 1 in a loaded Class 6A top 10. Westlake sits at No. 2 and defeated Archer 29-14 on Thursday. Lee County held off Class 4As Carver-Columbus 25-22 and occupies the No. 3 slot. Hughes opened the season at No. 4 but fell to No. 10 after its 7-6 overtime loss to Newton. River Ridge jumped up to No. 4 this week after rallying past Lassiter 35-16 and Carrollton comes in at No. 5 following its 49-13 win over New Manchester. Brunswick and Johns Creek replaced Allatoona and Valdosta in this weeks poll. Brunswick opened with a 20-13 win over defending Class 3A state champion Pierce County and Johns Creek topped Gainesville 26-10. Allatoona dropped a 25-17 contest to Harrison and Valdosta was defeated by Warner Robins 48-20.

In Class 5A, Jones County and St. Pius were replaced in the top 10 after dropping their season openers and Woodward Academy and Dutchtown entered the poll after scoring big wins in their Week 1 games. Woodward Academy topped ELCA 17-14 and Dutchtown topped Lanier 28-10. Creekside climbed to No. 5 after defeating Grayson 19-14.

Troup moved up a spot to No. 6 after scoring a big 28-21 win over Harris County in Class 4A and Perry improved to No. 9 following its 36-13 win over Houston County. Jefferson remains No. 1 after topping Rabun County 28-13 and Cedartown climbed one slot to No. 5 after topping Class 7A Denmark 7-3 in its opener.

Callaway remains the team to beat in Class 2A with Fitzgerald, Rabun County, Thomasville and Northeast-Macon topping the class. Irwin County is the new No. 1 in Class 2A with Dublin, Brooks County, Commerce and Wilcox County filling the top 5. Trinity Christian remains atop Class A Private and leads Wesleyan, Eagles Landing Christian, Fellowship Christian and Calvary Day.
