In Class 7A, top-ranked Buford opened the year with a 38-7 victory over Alabamas Thompson and No. 2 Grayson scored a 32-12 victory over Marietta in Saturdays Corky Kell Classic finale at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Marietta was previously ranked No. 8 and fell out of the poll after the loss. No. 3 North Cobb scored a 21-17 victory over No. 10 Westlake and No. 4 Mill Creek defeated No. 9 Walton 47-41. Carrollton replaced Marietta at No. 8 following the Trojans 69-7 victory over Gadsden City (AL).

In Class 6A, Woodward Academy moved up a spot to No. 5 and Marist fell from No. 5 to No. 10 after a 34-23 loss to Gainesville, which debuts at No. 7 following the victory. Douglas County moved up two spots to No. 8 and South Paulding replaced St. Pius and debuts at No. 9. Class 5A saw Cartersville take over No. 1 after its 35-0 win over Cherokee and Warner Robins fell to No. 2 after opening with a 26-10 loss to Class 6A No. 2 Lee County. Jones County moved up from No. 6 to No. 3 after scoring a 27-21 victory over Northside-Warner Robins, Coffee jumped from no. 9 to No. 4 with its 55-7 win over Tift County and Clarke Central moved up from No. 8 to No. 5 after a 40-0 win over Cedar Shoals.

In Class 4A, Troup moved up a spot to No. 5 after a 33-0 win over Harris County and Bainbridge dropped from No. 5 to No. 8 after 30-14 loss to Cedar Grove. Additionally, Trinity Christian fell from No. 9 to No. 10 after a 37-19 loss to Woodward Academy

Cedar Grove tops Class 3A and leads Crisp County, Carver-Columbus, Carver-Atlanta and Sandy Creek. In Class 2A, Fitzgerald tops the class with Appling County, Pierce County, ELCA and Rockmart filling the top 5.

Brooks County leads Class A Div. I ahead of Rabun County, Prince Avenue Christian, Swainsboro and Bleckley County. In Class A Div. II, Schley County took over the top spot with Bowdon, Charlton County, former-No. 1 Macon County and Wilcox County rounding the top 5.
