Week 2 softball rankings, East Coweta makes jump

East Coweta made a jump from fifth to first in the states largest classification. Lassiter, which was third last week, made the jump to No. 2. Milton holds the No. 3 spot after Week 1. Parkview, which was ranked No. 8 last week, made a jump to No. 4.

Creekview overtook Cambridge as No .1 in Class AAAAAA. Alexander, previously ranked third, is in the No. 2 spot. River Ridge made a large jump from seventh to No. 3 after a solid week. Dunwoody, after a 4-1 start, debuts in the Top 5 at No. 4.

In Class AAAAA, Buford still reigns supreme with Chamblee overtaking Walnut Grove in the No. 2 spot. Speaking of Walnut Grove, it tumbles to No. 8. Previously unranked Locust Grove debuts at the No. 3 spot after Week 1. Starrs Mill, previously third, falls to No. 4.

In Class AAAA, Northside-Columbus overtakes No. 1 as Central-Carrol falls to second. Ridgeland, previously sixth, climbs to No. 3 and Stephens County, previously No. 7, is fifth.

A new No. 1, Calhoun, overtakes East Jackson in Class AAA. Liberty County, previously unranked, made a jump to third. Pike County, previously third, falls to No. 8.

Rockmart, previously fourth, made a push to the top of the rankings in Class AA with previous No. 1 Harlem in second. Bacon County made a move from fifth to fourth as Jeff Davis moved to fifth.

Gordon Lee still holds the top spot in Class A-Public with Glascock County overtaking Georgia Military in the No. 2 spot. Georgia Military falls to No. 6. Trion, previously No. 6, jumps up to fourth as Telfair County fell to No. 5.

After First Presbyterian fell from first to No. 8, Wesleyan overtakes the top spot in Class A-Private. Tattnall Square, previously fifth, is second. Eagles Landing Christian, previously eighth, made a jump into the Top 5 at No. 4.
