In Class 6A, No. 1 ranked Grayson (10-1) dropped its first loss of the season to nationally No. 1 ranked Columbus (FL) in an 85-48 defeat. The Rams rebounded with back-to-back victories and will be back in action at home on Jan. 3 against Archer before a battle against McEachern on Jan. 4. McEachern (10-2) picked up its ninth-straight victory on Saturday in the second annual Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Basketball Classic with a 75-61 victory over Riverwood. In the victory, 6-foot-10 senior DJ Palm returned for the first time since his medical condition sidelined him last season. Pebblebrook and South Gwinnett were replaced in the poll by Hillgrove and Grovetownwhich come in at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

Class 5A No. 1 ranked Milton defeated Class 6A No. 6 ranked Etowah 63-58 on Friday and that win came on the heels of a 78-45 win over No. 7 Norcross. Jonesboro debuted in Class 4A after a 7-4 start. Dougherty replaced Upson-Lee at No. 10 in Class 3A. In Class 2A, No. 1 ranked Carver-Columbus improved to 6-0.
